Ok, maybe not entirely back on track. The past 3 months have been challenging to say the least. I have been through one of the worst years of my life and I have to say this includes some pretty hefty life tragedies. I wish I could put it all out there but can not do so as there are other individuals involved.
One thing I learned through this was that I should not give in to my initial reactive impulses. I let time, prayer and wise counsel lead me down the proper road and feel I am at a point where I can start fully living my life again.
I have had a few wonderful moments in the past week that have made me realize I needed to get back to the bracelets and blog I have neglected during this time. My daughter, knowing what I have been dealing with, said “mom, you need to get back into your bracelets.” I believe she realizes how much joy I get in giving the bracelets out to people during my days. Then, on a day I was feeling especially down and to be honest…a bit old…a random act of kindness turned my day around. I was early at the hair salon and was feeling self conscious about the bright fuchsia dress I had on to wear to a “Please wear something bright” launch party. I was heading out to change into my workout clothes and cancel the party when a sweet young woman said “I love your dress!” I confessed to her my feelings and she boosted me up so much i ended up going to the party and wearing the dress with confidence. Thank you Emily! You are truly a light:)
Then, I went to pick up my mother’s glasses and the owner of the eyeglass place shined his light so I gave him a bracelet. He ended up asking for more so that he could give them to his customers:) A day later on my way into church I grabbed a bracelet determined to give one away……I was greeted by the pastor with a smile a bit bigger than usual and we exchanged pleasantries. I felt the bracelet needed to be given to him so I asked him ” would you like a bracelet?” and he said yes! I truly hope these recipients appreciate the little things and continue to shine their light! Thank you all for making my day brighter!!!
